Seeing a lizard inside your home might seem like a simple, everyday occurrence. In many parts of the world, especially in tropical regions, house lizards are common visitors. However, across different cultures and belief systems, this small creature carries deeper spiritual meanings—often linked to luck, protection, transformation, and hidden messages.

 A Symbol of Protection and Good Fortune

In many Asian cultures, including Vietnam and Thailand, lizards—especially geckos—are not considered harmful. Instead, they are often seen as quiet guardians of the home. Their presence is believed to help control insects, but spiritually, they are thought to absorb or ward off negative energy.

In Thailand, the sound of a gecko (often called “tokay”) is sometimes interpreted as a sign of confirmation or warning. If a gecko appears or makes a sound at a specific moment, some believe it is the universe responding—either affirming a decision or urging caution.

My 9-year-old daughter baked 300 Easter cookies for the homeless — the next morning, a stranger showed up at our door with a briefcase full of cash. My daughter, Ashley, has always had a heart too big for her chest. Since my wife died, we’ve barely been making ends meet. We spent everything we had trying to save her from cancer.
