Body Types: Are You an Ectomorph, Mesomorph, or Endomorph?

A – Ectomorph (The Overlap)

Identification: The thumb and middle finger overlap significantly.

  • Physical Traits: Narrow shoulders and hips, thin bone structure, and very little body fat or muscle.
  • Metabolism: “Fast” metabolism; these individuals are often called “hard gainers” because they struggle to put on weight or muscle.
  • Strategy: Focus on calorie-dense foods and heavy strength training with longer rest periods.

B – Mesomorph (The Touch)

Identification: The thumb and middle finger just touch.

  • Physical Traits: Large bone structure, naturally athletic physique, and well-defined muscles. They typically have a “V” or “Hourglass” shape.
  • Metabolism: Efficient metabolism; they gain muscle easily and can lose or gain fat relatively quickly depending on diet.
  • Strategy: Balanced training (cardio and weights) and a moderate, high-protein diet.

C – Endomorph (The Gap)
